Description

In this course you will learn how to convert numbers between different numbering systemsin preparation for a certification exam or your networking or software developmentcareer.

Learn how to convert numbersin your sleep (or at least no longer have nightmares about numbers).

  • Understand the decimal, binary, and hexadecimal numbering systems
  • Learn how to convert binary numbers to decimal and hexadecimalnumbers.
  • Learn how to convert decimal numbers to binary and hexadecimalnumbers.
  • Learn how to convert hexadecimal numbers to decimal and binary numbers.

Take the fear away from subnettingand feel comfortable under exampressure!

Lets admit it. Thinking about different numbering systems can be intimidating. Most of us have worked with the numbers 1-10 (0-9 actually)all of our lives and its difficult to think usingdifferent numbers.Ive taught networking students to subnet since 2003 and the problem for most students is that they arent that good at math. But binary and hexadecimal numbering doesnt even use math were used to so it can be even more confusing.

Over ten years ago Ideveloped lectures on number conversion for a collegethat were so powerful Iwas asked to write a textbook on network subnettingby a major textbook publisher. The challenge was that the lectures were so powerful that Iwas also offered a promotion and had to move. That meant that Icouldnt finish the textbook, but it gives you the ability to experience the content here.

This course contains the original textbook material in article form along with explanatory video lectures, quizzes, and case problems so you get the best of both worlds. Youll get all of the information you need in the video lectures, but you can also read the textbook content, take the quizzes, and complete the case problemsto increase your learning.

I designed this course to be easy and accessible to beginners yet also good if youve learned the different numbering systemsbefore and just need a refresher.

At the end of this course youll know all of the basics of understanding and converting between different numbering systemsand be ready for your developer or networkingcareer or certification exams.

I'm going to keep going until I succeed — or die. Don't think I don't know how this might end. I've known it for years.

So we shall let the reader answer this question for himself: who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed?
